Grassroots Rugby Talk

Everyone that knows me, knows just how much I love being on camera. Whether it is a candid snapped pic from a phone, formal picture, or a video. It simply isn’t my thing. I prefer to toil away unnoticed.

Much to the chagrin of my wife, every picture feels like a piece of my soul is being torn away. Want a smile with teeth showing? Almost as hard to find as a needle in a haystack.

The rugby pitch is one of the few spaces where I truly feel comfortable in my own skin. So, I find action photos far less cringe worthy.

That said, the opportunity to talk about grassroots rugby with my friend and fellow rugby enthusiast Gavin Chase was just enough of a temptation to get me to overcome my fear of cameras. Gavin has recently started Our Rugby Club which is a podcast dedicated to talking about grassroots rugby and the challenges that we face. Real stories from real clubs and people.

It was an honor to even be considered as a guest, let alone one of his earliest episodes.

So, give the podcast a watch below or listen (it is available on most of the major podcast platforms). Give Our Rugby Club a “follow” and tune into these great conversations.

Enjoy seeing me on video. It’s rare that I let it happen, but when it does there is usually a great reason behind it.
